Protect Sharks

Humans are wiping out the shark population at an alarming rate. Shark populations of many species have been reduced to as little as 10 to 30 percent of the populations of the 1970s. It is estimated that humans are killing anywhere between 70 million to 100 million sharks each year. This is a great concern due to the impact it is having on the underwater environment. Several types of sharks are apex predators and many types of sharks help keep populations of underwater organisms in check. They help keep a balance in the oceans.
