Underwater Navigator

Class Description: You may dive in waters that have poor visibility or be tasked with leading other divers around dive sites. Underwater Navigator training will make you better at finding your way around your dive site.

About the Class: You begin by getting the Underwater Navigator Manual and completing the Knowledge Reviews. We have a classroom session to discuss equipment and techniques related to underwater navigation. We then complete three dives, where you put what you learned into practice.

What You Can Do: You will be more aware of your location on your dive site and how to get back to your boat or exit point. You will learn how to use both natural navigation and your compass to get around.

Prerequisites: You must be at least 10 years old and a Junior or Open Water Diver.

Equipment: There is little extra gear needed for this course. You will need a reliable compass to keep track of where you have been and the directgion you would like to go.

Costs: Info coming soon.

What's Next: Use your skills to lead another diver around the dive site. The Underwater Navigator Specialty counts towards your Master Scuba Diver rating.
