Project AWARE Specialist

Class Description: Scuba divers are able to personally see the underwater environment. There are many things going on that is negatively affecting this underwater environment.

About the Class: This is a non-diving specialty that consists of a classroom session. We learn about plant and animal life under water and how they are being affected by human and global factors. We discuss erosion, debris and pollution. We learn about the fragile coral reef system, sustainable fishing and shark hunting.

What You Can Do: You will be more informed about the earth's aquatic world and more aware of the effects of pollution, global warming and over fishing.

Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites for this course.

Equipment: No equipment needed.
